# ES6 `String.prototype.startsWith` polyfill [![string.prototype.startswith on npm](https://img.shields.io/npm/v/string.prototype.startswith)](https://www.npmjs.com/package/string.prototype.startswith) A robust & optimized polyfill for [the `String.prototype.startsWith` method in ECMAScript 6](http://people.mozilla.org/~jorendorff/es6-draft.html#sec-string.prototype.startswith). This package implements the [es-shim API](https://github.com/es-shims/api) interface. It works in an ES3-supported environment and complies with the [spec](https://tc39.es/ecma262/#sec-string.prototype.startswith). On the `main` branch, bump the version number in `package.json`: ```sh npm version patch ``` Instead of `patch`, use `minor` or `major` [as needed](https://semver.org/). Note that this produces a Git commit + tag. 1.
