# SmartEdit - Terms and Conditions of Use

Welcome to SmartEdit, a powerful and extensible Command Line Interface (CLI) editor developed by Smart Tell Line. By accessing or using SmartEdit, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions of Use ("Terms"). Please read them carefully. If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use SmartEdit.

## 1. Introduction and Acceptance of Terms

These Terms govern your use of SmartEdit, including all features, functionalities, and content provided therein. SmartEdit is designed to be a robust and efficient tool for text editing within a terminal environment. Your use of SmartEdit signifies your full acceptance of these Terms.

## 2. License Grant

SmartEdit is open-source software released under the **MIT License**. A copy of the MIT License is provided in the `LICENSE` file accompanying SmartEdit. SMARTEDIT IS PROVIDED "AS IS", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NONINFRINGEMENT. SMART TELL LINE AND ITS CONTRIBUTORS DO NOT WARRANT THAT SMARTEDIT WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF VIRUSES OR OTHER HARMFUL COMPONENTS. YOU ARE SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGE TO YOUR COMPUTER SYSTEM OR LOSS OF DATA THAT RESULTS FROM THE USE OF SMARTEDIT.

## 5. Limitation of Liability

IN NO EVENT SHALL SMART TELL LINE, ITS AUTHORS, OR CONTRIBUTORS BE LIABLE FOR ANY CLAIM, DAMAGES OR OTHER LIABILITY, WHETHER IN AN ACTION OF CONTRACT, TORT OR OTHERWISE, ARISING FROM, OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH THE SOFTWARE OR THE USE OR OTHER DEALINGS IN THE SOFTWARE. THIS INCLUDES, BUT IS NOT LIMITED TO, DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, RESULTING FROM (A) YOUR ACCESS TO OR USE OF OR INABILITY TO ACCESS OR USE SMARTEDIT; (B) ANY CONDUCT OR CONTENT OF ANY THIRD PARTY ON SMARTEDIT; (C) ANY CONTENT OBTAINED FROM SMARTEDIT; AND (D) UNAUTHORIZED ACCESS, USE OR ALTERATION OF YOUR TRANSMISSIONS OR CONTENT.

## 6. Intellectual Property

SmartEdit, including its design, code, and documentation, is the intellectual property of **Smart Tell Line**. All rights not expressly granted to you in these Terms or the MIT License are reserved by Smart Tell Line. The author of SmartEdit is **Smart Tell Line**.

## 7. Privacy

SmartEdit is a local CLI application and does not inherently collect, store, or transmit any personal data or usage information from your system to Smart Tell Line. Your data remains on your local machine. However, your use of SmartEdit may involve interaction with your operating system or other third-party tools, which may have their own privacy policies. You are responsible for understanding and agreeing to those policies.

## 8. Termination

These Terms remain in effect as long as you use SmartEdit. Smart Tell Line reserves the right to terminate or suspend your access to SmartEdit at any time, without prior notice or liability, for any reason whatsoever, including without limitation if you breach these Terms.

## 9. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction where Smart Tell Line is located, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

## 10. Changes to Terms

Smart Tell Line reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to modify or replace these Terms at any time. If a revision is material, we will try to provide at least 30 days' notice prior to any new terms taking effect. What constitutes a material change will be determined at our sole discretion. By continuing to access or use SmartEdit after those revisions become effective, you agree to be bound by the revised terms.
