# BMAD Task Manager - Task Completion Checklist

## When Completing a Task

### 1. Code Quality Checks
- [ ] Ensure no `any` types are used in TypeScript
- [ ] Verify all imports use proper type imports where applicable
- [ ] Check that error handling is in place for all async operations

### 2. Build Verification
```bash
# Build the server
cd server && npm run build

# Build the web UI
cd web && npm run build
```

### 3. Type Checking
```bash
# TypeScript compilation will check types
cd server && tsc --noEmit
cd web && tsc --noEmit
```

### 4. Linting (Web Only)
```bash
cd web && npm run lint
```

### 5. Testing
```bash
# Run tests if available
npm test
```

### 6. Manual Testing
- Start the application: `./bmad`
- Verify the feature works in the browser
- Check that WebSocket connections are established
- Test MCP tools if relevant

### 7. Port Verification
- Ensure no port conflicts (default: 7530/7531)
- Check that environment variables work correctly
- Verify `.env` file configuration

### 8. Documentation Updates
- Update README.md if adding new features
- Update MCP_SETUP.md for MCP-related changes
- Add inline comments for complex logic

### 9. Git Commit

## Common Issues to Check
- Port conflicts: Run `./stop.sh` to clean up
- Build errors: Check TypeScript configuration
- Import errors: Verify paths and extensions
- WebSocket issues: Check CORS and proxy settings
- Database errors: Verify SQLite file permissions
