# BMAD Task Manager - Suggested Commands

## Development Commands

### Starting the Application
```bash
# Start everything with auto-browser launch (Serena-style)
./bmad

# Start MCP server only (for Claude/GPT integration)
./bmad mcp

# Start API server and Web UI separately
cd server && npm run dev:web  # API on port 7531
cd web && npm run dev          # UI on port 7530

# Stop all services
./stop.sh
```

### Building
```bash
# Build both server and client
npm run build

# Build server only
cd server && npm run build

# Build web UI only
cd web && npm run build
```

### Testing
```bash
# Run all tests
npm test

# Server tests
cd server && npm test

# Web tests
cd web && npm test
```

### Linting
```bash
# Web linting
cd web && npm run lint
```

### Installation
```bash
# Install all dependencies
npm run install:all

# Or manually
npm install
cd server && npm install
cd ../web && npm install
```

## Environment Configuration
```bash
# Use custom ports
API_PORT=8531 WEB_PORT=8530 ./bmad

# Or set in .env file
echo "API_PORT=8531" >> .env

```

## MCP Mode Commands
