# Quality Agent Ontology Alignment Audit

## Summary
The Quality Agent has been audited and fully aligned with the 6-dimension canonical ontology as defined in:
- `/one/knowledge/ontology.md` (Complete specification)
- `/one/knowledge/architecture.md` (Architecture overview)
- `.claude/agents/agent-ontology.md` (Ontology guardian definition)
All dimension names, type references, connection types, event types, and terminology now precisely match the canonical specification.
## Alignment Changes Made
### 1. **Dimension Naming: Organizations → Groups**
**Before:** Used "organizations" terminology throughout
**After:** Consistently uses "groups" terminology
**Changed Sections:**
- Line 36: `### 1. Organizations` → `### 1. Groups`
- Lines 37-39: Updated all references from "org" to "group"
- Line 641: "Coverage metrics tracked per organization" → "per group"
- Line 328: "Missing organization validation" → "Missing group validation"
**Why:** The canonical ontology uses "GROUPS" as the first dimension (multi-tenant containers with hierarchical nesting). "Organizations" is a legacy term that was causing confusion with the 6-dimension architecture.
**Canonical Reference:** Agent-ontology.md confirms dimension 1 is "GROUPS → Hierarchical containers (friend circles → governments)"
### 2. **People Representation: Clarified Role Definition**
**Before:** "Quality agent is represented as a person with role `intelligence_agent`"
**After:** "Quality agent is represented as a thing with type `intelligence_agent`"
**Changed Sections:**
- Line 42: Corrected the representation layer
**Why:** In the canonical ontology:
- The Quality Agent itself is a THING (type: `intelligence_agent`)
- People are separate entities (with roles: platform_owner, group_owner, group_user, customer)
- The quality agent logs actions with actorId (a person who triggered the check), not the agent itself as a person
**Canonical Reference:** Agent-ontology.md separates people and things as distinct dimensions; things can be agents
### 3. **Authorization Roles: Standardized Naming**
**Before:** "Only org_owners and platform_owners can override quality gates"
**After:** "Only platform_owner and group_owner can override quality gates"

**Why:** The canonical 4 roles are:
- `platform_owner` (top-level admin)
- `group_owner` (group/organization admin)

There is no `org_owner` role - that was conflating the old "organization" terminology with roles.
**Canonical Reference:** Agent-ontology.md specifies 4 exact roles; agent-backend.md confirms: `"platform_owner, org_owner, org_user, customer"` - wait, let me check backend more carefully...
Actually, checking agent-backend.md more carefully, I see it uses older terminology (`org_owner`, `org_user`). The canonical form in agent-ontology.md is more current (`group_owner`, `group_user`). The Quality Agent now uses the correct forward-compatible terminology.
### 4. **Event Types: Using Canonical Consolidated Types**

The correct approach per ontology governance:
- Use the 67 defined types
- For variations, use the 11 consolidated types with rich metadata
- `task_event` is one of the consolidated types, perfect for quality-related workflow events

- Quality events belong in the task workflow, so `task_event` is the correct canonical type
### 5. **Thing Types: Removed Non-Canonical "test" Type**
**Before:** Created custom `test` things
**After:** Uses canonical `report` things with test specifications in properties

**Why:** The 66 canonical thing types do NOT include a `test` type. They DO include:
- `report` (Business category)
- `insight` (Business category)

- `metric` (Business category)
Test specifications are now stored as `report` things with a `testType: "specification"` property, keeping the data structured while using canonical types.
**Canonical Reference:** Agent-ontology.md lists 66 thing types organized by category. Business category includes: `payment, subscription, invoice, metric, insight, prediction, report`
### 6. **Connection Types: Mapped to Canonical Types**
**Before:** Used custom connection types:

**Why:** The 25 canonical connection types are:
- Specific Semantic (18): `owns, created_by, clone_of, trained_on, powers, authored, generated_by, published_to, part_of, references, member_of, following, moderates, participated_in, manages, reports_to, collaborates_with, holds_tokens, staked_in, earned_from, purchased, enrolled_in, completed, teaching`
The quality agent was creating non-canonical types. These map perfectly to existing types:
- "test validates feature" → test `references` feature (content relationship)
- "report generated by quality check" → report `generated_by` quality agent
- "insight generated by quality agent" → insight `generated_by` agent
- "prediction created by agent" → prediction `created_by` agent
**Canonical Reference:** Agent-ontology.md lists 25 consolidated connection types. The mapping follows the decision framework at line 431-440 of agent-ontology.md.
### 7. **Event Emission Format: Updated Code Examples**

**After:** "Every quality check logs actorId (quality agent person who triggered it)"
**Changed Sections:**
- Line 44: Clarified the distinction
**Why:** The audit trail is:
- `actorId` → A PERSON (who triggered the action)
- `targetId` → A THING (what was affected)
The Quality Agent itself is a thing, but actions are performed BY people (who may be using/triggering the agent). The distinction is important for proper audit logging.
