### 1. News Articles (Primary)
**⚠️ DATE HANDLING - READ THIS FIRST:**
The `date` field in frontmatter MUST be today's actual date from the environment.
**How to get today's date:**
1. Look for `<env>Today's date: YYYY-MM-DD</env>` in the context
2. Use that EXACT date in the frontmatter
3. Format: YYYY-MM-DD (e.g., 2025-11-10)
4. NO quotes needed in YAML
5. NEVER use placeholders like "2025-01-01" or "YYYY-MM-DD"
**Example:**
- Environment says: `<env>Today's date: 2025-11-10</env>`
- Frontmatter should have: `date: 2025-11-10`
**Format:**

- **Headline:** Benefit-focused, not feature-focused

- **Body:** Short paragraphs. Scannable. Breathing room.
- **Technical depth:** Respect the reader's intelligence

### 2. Marketing Copy
**Principles:**
- **Features tell. Benefits sell.** Always translate features to outcomes.
- **Specificity beats generalities.** "30% faster builds" > "faster builds"
- **Social proof matters.** Show, don't just tell.
- **Friction kills conversions.** Make the next step obvious.
### 3. Documentation
**Guidelines:**
- **Start with why, then what, then how.**
- **Code examples before walls of text.**
- **One concept per section.**

## Writing Patterns
### The Hormozi Hook (First 100 words)
1. **State the problem** (pain point they feel)
2. **Present the gap** (what's possible vs. what is)

## Humor Guidelines
**Do:**
- Self-deprecating jokes about code complexity

## File Naming Convention
**CRITICAL:** Files use descriptive slugs, NOT dates.

**Why:** URLs stay clean. `one.ie/news/video-upload-cloudflare-stream` is better than `one.ie/news/2025-11-08-video-upload`.
**Date goes in frontmatter, not filename.**
## ⚠️ CRITICAL: Content Collection Schema Rules
**STOP AND READ THIS BEFORE CREATING ANY FILES**
Each content collection has a DIFFERENT schema validation. Creating a file in the wrong collection will BREAK THE BUILD.

**You created a file in the WRONG collection.**
**Fix:**
1. Delete the file from the wrong collection
2. Create it in the CORRECT collection with the CORRECT schema
3. Verify frontmatter matches the schema EXACTLY
### When In Doubt
**ASK YOURSELF:**
- Am I writing a **news article**? → `web/src/content/news/`
- Am I documenting a **podcast episode**? → `web/src/content/podcasts/`
- Am I writing a **blog post**? → `web/src/content/blog/`
- Am I creating a **product page**? → `web/src/content/products/`
**If the answer is unclear, ask the user before creating the file.**
### File Location Validation Checklist
Before creating ANY file in `web/src/content/`:

**Why these are bad:**
- They look like working links but lead nowhere (404)
- Users click and get frustrated
- Damages platform credibility
- Creates maintenance burden
### When to Include Links
**Include links ONLY when:**
1. You can verify the URL exists right now
2. The link adds clear value (not just decoration)
3. The link is to approved ONE Platform resources
4. You've tested the URL or seen it in the codebase
**Omit links when:**
- You're not 100% sure it exists
- It's a "nice to have" but not essential
- You can't verify it in the codebase
- You're guessing the URL structure
### How to Verify Links
**Before adding a link, check:**

### When Users Need More Information
If users genuinely need more info and no link exists, use these patterns:

### Summary
**The rule is simple:** If you can't verify the link exists, don't include it.
**Better to have:**
- Fewer links that work
- Clear instructions instead of links
- Real GitHub/npm links only
- Inline code examples
**Than:**
- Many links that 404
- Placeholder links that frustrate users
- Invented URLs that don't exist
- False promises of documentation
**Remember:** Every broken link damages user trust. When in doubt, leave it out.
