# NPM Plus MCP Configuration Summary

## ✅ Fixed Issues

### 1. **Server Name Consistency**
- Updated all configurations to use **`npmplus-mcp`** instead of `javascript-package-manager`
- Fixed in:
  - ✅ `.windsurfrc` 
  - ✅ `.cursorrules`
  - ✅ `README.md` (all 7 configuration examples)
  - ✅ `src/constants.ts`
  - ✅ Netlify functions
  - ✅ Landing page website (all configurations)
  - ✅ JavaScript copy function

### 2. **Fixed Duplicate Transport Fields**
- Removed duplicate `"transport": "http"` entries in README.md
- All JSON configurations now valid

### 3. **NPX Installation Support**
- ✅ Added NPX installation option like puppeteer MCP server
- ✅ Updated `.windsurfrc` to use NPX by default
- ✅ Created `.windsurfrc.npx` configuration file
- ✅ Added NPX tab to website landing page

### 4. **Windsurf Configuration Files**
- ✅ `.windsurfrc` - NPX installation (recommended)
- ✅ `.windsurfrc.hosted` - Hosted service configuration
- ✅ `.windsurfrc.npx` - NPX installation configuration
- ✅ `docs/WINDSURF_SETUP.md` - Complete setup guide

## 🚀 Quick Setup Instructions

### Windsurf Setup
1. **For hosted service**: `cp .windsurfrc.hosted .windsurfrc`
2. **For local dev**: Use existing `.windsurfrc` (already configured)
3. **Restart Windsurf**
4. **Test**: Ask "Search for React testing libraries"

### Cursor Setup
1. **Check `.cursorrules`** - Everything you need is documented there
2. **Add to Cursor MCP settings**:

## 🔍 Troubleshooting

### Windsurf Not Showing Tools
1. **Restart Windsurf** after config changes
2. **Check `.windsurfrc` location** (project root)
3. **Validate JSON syntax**
4. **Check Windsurf console** for errors

### Hosted Service Issues
1. **Test connectivity**: Visit https://api.npmplus.dev/health
2. **Check URL**: Ensure correct endpoint in config

### Local Development Issues  
1. **Build first**: `npm run build`
2. **Check paths**: Ensure `./dist/index.js` exists
