## Comprehensive Guide
### What This Tool Does
The React Migration CLI is designed to automate the complex process of upgrading React applications from version 16 to newer versions. Here's what it handles:
#### Automated Code Transformations
1. **ReactDOM.render → createRoot Migration**
- Converts `ReactDOM.render()` to `ReactDOM.createRoot().render()`
- Updates import statements automatically
- Handles both synchronous and asynchronous rendering
2. **Lifecycle Method Updates**
- Converts deprecated lifecycle methods to modern alternatives
- `componentWillMount` → `componentDidMount`
- `componentWillReceiveProps` → `componentDidUpdate`
- `componentWillUpdate` → `componentDidUpdate`
3. **PropTypes Modernization**
- Converts `React.PropTypes` to `prop-types` package
- Maintains runtime validation where needed
4. **Basic Class to Functional Component Conversion**
- Converts simple class components to functional components with `useState` (advanced patterns are not yet supported)

#### Safety Features

- Optionally creates a backup before making changes (`--create-backup`)
- Manual rollback supported via CLI

- **Automatic migration of complex class components to functional components with hooks**
- **Automatic migration of custom business logic or advanced state management**
- **Automatic migration of context usage to modern patterns**

- **Automatic deep compatibility with all third-party libraries**
- **Incremental or step-by-step migration (beyond file/component selection)**
#### Manual Review Required
- Some React 18+ features require manual implementation
- Custom logic, advanced state management, and custom hooks/utilities need manual review
- Third-party library compatibility must be verified manually
- Performance optimizations and bundle size analysis are not automated
## Installation

### Basic Migration

## Important Notes
### Before Migration
1. **Backup Your Project**
- Always create a backup or use version control
- The tool creates automatic backups, but manual backup is recommended

- Ensure all tests pass before migration
