"Description": "This tag is used for authentication at the E3/DC system. / Be aware that before authentication takes place, the connection is already encrypted using the encryption passphrase. Also be aware that each particular connection ('session') must be authenticated, even if the connection is reestablished after it was lost. It is good practice to authenticate within the first RSCP frame(s) send over a new connection before any other data is exchanged. Otherwise the access granted is very limited. / There are two possibilities to authenticate. The user/password authentication authenticates a single user, while the challenge/response authentication authenticates an E3/DC partner to the system. Customers must use the user/password authentication, while E3/DC partners may use either challenge/response partner authentication or user/password customer authentication. If in doubt which one to use, use user/password authentication. / For user/password authentication the tags TAG_RSCP_AUTHENTICATION_USER and TAG_RSCP_AUTHENTICATION_PASSWORD must be contained in the request. / The usage of the challenge/response partner authentication must be requested from E3/DC. Before sending the authentication data, an auth challenge must be obtained from the system by sending TAG_RSCP_REQ_AUTH_CHALLENGE. The obtained auth challenge must be processed with the partners credentials claimed from E3/DC. Beside TAG_RSCP_AUTHENTICATION_USER, the tags TAG_RSCP_AUTH_CHALLENGE_INDEX and TAG_RSCP_AUTH_CHALLENGE_DATA hold the response for the challenge. Please note that any requested auth challenge can be used only once and within a limited time span.
