# Comctx Use RPC to communicate easily across contexts in any JavaScript environment. [Comctx](https://github.com/molvqingtai/comctx) has a similar goal to [Comlink](https://github.com/GoogleChromeLabs/comlink), but it's not reinventing the wheel, as [Comlink](https://github.com/GoogleChromeLabs/comlink) relies on [MessagePort](https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/API/MessagePort), which is limited in some environments ([Issues: 438](https://github.com/GoogleChromeLabs/comlink/issues/438)). By default, both provider and injector would bundle the same implementation code, but the injector only needs it for type safety: ```typescript // packages/provider/src/index.ts import { defineProxy } from 'comctx' import { Counter } from './shared' export const [provideCounter] = defineProxy(() => new Counter(), { namespace: '__comctx-example__' }) ``` ```typescript // packages/injector/src/index.ts import { defineProxy } from 'comctx' import type { Counter } from './shared' // Since the injector side is a virtual proxy that doesn't actually run, we can pass an empty object export const [, injectCounter] = defineProxy(() => ({}) as Counter, { namespace: '__comctx-example__' }) ``` ### Transfer and Transferable Objects By default, every method parameter, return value and object property value is copied ([structured cloning](https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/API/Web_Workers_API/Structured_clone_algorithm)). Comctx performs no internal serialization and natively supports [transferable objects](https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/API/Web_Workers_API/Transferable_objects). If you want a value to be transferred rather than copied — provided the value is or contains a [Transferable](https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/API/Web_Workers_API/Transferable_objects#supported_objects) — you can enable the `transfer` option. Wrap it with [ReadableStream.from](https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/API/ReadableStream/from_static) before returning or sending it so it can be transferred. ## 📖Examples -
