Put two or more of them on a single line and they flow side by side instead, which is what you usually want for a row of badges. [![npm](https://img.shields.io/npm/v/apos-docs.svg)](https://www.npmjs.com/package/apos-docs) [![downloads](https://img.shields.io/npm/dt/apos-docs.svg)](https://www.npmjs.com/package/apos-docs) ```md [![npm](https://img.shields.io/npm/v/apos-docs.svg)](https://www.npmjs.com/package/apos-docs) [![downloads](https://img.shields.io/npm/dt/apos-docs.svg)](https://www.npmjs.com/package/apos-docs) ``` The line has to be nothing but images, since anything else on it means the images are part of a sentence rather than a row. Links around the images are fine, which is what makes badges work. A single image on its own line is left alone. ## Plugins The killer feature of `markdown-it` is very effective support of [syntax plugins](https://www.npmjs.org/browse/keyword/markdown-it-plugin). ### [Emojies](https://github.com/markdown-it/markdown-it-emoji) > Classic markup:  :crush:  :tear:  :yum: > > Shortcuts (emoticons): :-) :-( 8-) ;) see [how to change output](https://github.com/markdown-it/markdown-it-emoji#change-output) with twemoji. ### [Subscript](https://github.com/markdown-it/markdown-it-sub) / [Superscript](https://github.com/markdown-it/markdown-it-sup) - 19^th^ - H~2~O ### [Footnotes](https://github.com/markdown-it/markdown-it-footnote) Footnote 1 link[^first].
