### Why is this important?
Browsers and assistive technology must be able to interpret the markup of the content accurately.
If the code is ambiguous or incorrect, it may be interpreted differently by browsers and assistive technology, and the content will not be accessible to the user.
As technology evolves,
sometimes new ways to meet a use case become available, that work better than a feature previously defined in a specification.
When specifications are updated, some elements and attributes become "deprecated" because of existing implementations of the older feature.
This indicates that the feature is allowed and expected to be supported by conforming browsers.
However, those deprecated features may soon become obsolete, will be removed in future specifications,
and will no longer be expected to be supported by browsers and assistive technology used by persons with disabilities.
So, it is prudent to update the code to avoid deprecated features.
For example,
developers should not specify a `border` attribute on an `<img>` element in [HTML 5](https://dev.w3.org/html5/pf-summary/obsolete.html).
[CSS](https://www.w3.org/Style/CSS/Overview.en.html) should be used instead.

### What to do
* Replace deprecated elements and attributes with those preferred in the current specification version.
Note: The [4.1.1 Parsing](https://www.w3.org/WAI/WCAG21/Understanding/parsing.html) requirement was removed from WCAG.
However, the Checker will report an issue against another accessibility requirement when it detects it causes an accessibility issue.
