    Returns the global object.

    Parameters
    ----------
    codegen: boolean (optional)
        Boolean indicating whether to use code generation to resolve the global
        object. Code generation is the *most* reliable means for resolving the
        global object; however, using code generation may violate content
        security policies (CSPs). Default: false.

    Returns
    -------
    global: Object
        Global object.
