## Overview
This report tracks the progress of fixing all tests to work with the new adapter pattern architecture.
## Test Status Summary
### ✅ Fixed Tests - TASK 4.2 COMPLETE

- **session-store.test.ts**: ✅ Fixed - Simplified setup, removed unused test-setup.js import
- **session-manager-test-utils.ts**: ✅ Fixed - Added adapterRegistry and pathUtils to dependencies
#### Server Tests
- **server.test.ts**: ✅ Fixed - Updated to use executablePath instead of pythonPath, fixed test expectations
#### Integration Tests
- **python-discovery.test.ts**: ✅ Correctly uses `language: 'python'` - No changes needed
- **python_debug_workflow.test.ts**: ✅ Correctly uses `language: 'python'` - No changes needed
- **proxy-startup.test.ts**: ✅ No language-specific code - No changes needed
- Other integration tests that use Python should be tagged with `@requires-python`
#### E2E Tests
- Already fixed and passing (per previous report)
## Key Changes Made
### 1. ProxyManager Constructor Update
All ProxyManager instantiations now include the adapter parameter:
```typescript
new ProxyManager(
null, // adapter (null for tests that don't need it)
fakeLauncher,
mockFileSystem,
mockLogger
)
```
### 2. Language Parameter Updates
Changed all test sessions from Python to Mock adapter in unit tests:
```typescript
// Old
language: DebugLanguage.PYTHON
// New
language: DebugLanguage.MOCK
```
### 3. Parameter Name Updates
```typescript
// Old
pythonPath: '/usr/bin/python3'
// New
executablePath: '/usr/bin/python3'
```
### 4. Test Utilities Enhancement
Added required dependencies to `createMockDependencies()`:
- `pathUtils`: Mock implementation of path utilities
- `adapterRegistry`: Full adapter registry with Mock adapter registered
## Test Patterns Established
### Core Unit Tests
- Always use `DebugLanguage.MOCK`
- ProxyManager gets `null` adapter when not testing adapter functionality
- Mock all external dependencies
### Integration Tests
- Use `DebugLanguage.PYTHON` with `@requires-python` tag
- Test real adapter integration
- Mock only external system dependencies
### E2E Tests
- Use real languages as needed
- Full system integration testing
## Success Metrics
- ✅ All ProxyManager tests passing (21/21)
- ✅ All SessionManager tests passing (11/11)
- ✅ Server tests updated for new architecture
- ✅ Integration tests properly use language parameter
- ✅ E2E tests already passing
## Task 4.2 Completion Summary
**Task 4.2 is now COMPLETE**. All tests have been successfully migrated to work with the new adapter pattern architecture:
1. **Fixed 21 ProxyManager tests** - Added adapter parameter
2. **Fixed 11 SessionManager tests** - Updated to use MOCK language
3. **Fixed server tests** - Updated parameter names and expectations
4. **Verified integration tests** - Already correct, need @requires-python tags
5. **Removed unused imports** - Cleaned up ESLint warnings
## Minor Issues Remaining
- Some ESLint warnings about `any` types (non-blocking)
- Integration tests should be tagged with `@requires-python` where appropriate
## Next Steps
- Task 4.3: Test reorganization (if needed)
- Add `@requires-python` tags to Python integration tests
- Clean up remaining ESLint warnings (optional)
