# MCP Debugger Docker Server - Smoke Test Report

**Test Environment**: Windows 11, Docker, Python 3.11-alpine
**Server Name**: `mcp-debugger-docker`
## 1. Executive Summary
This report confirms that the containerized `mcp-debugger-docker` server is fully functional and stable after recent optimizations and changes. A smoke test was performed, exercising key debugging tools and workflows. The server performed as expected, with the previously identified `step_out` timeout issue resolved by correcting the script path within the container.
## 2. Test Objectives
* Verify the functionality of core debugging tools within the Docker container.
* Confirm the stability and reliability of the containerized debugging process.
* Validate the complete debugging workflow from session creation to termination.
* Specifically re-test the `step_out` operation which previously timed out.
## 3. Test Results
All tested features performed as expected.

## 4. Key Findings and Resolution
* **Initial Issue**: The `start_debugging` command initially failed with "Script path not found: `/app/examples/python/fibonacci.py`".
* **Root Cause**: The `Dockerfile` does not copy the `examples` directory to `/app`. Instead, `docker-compose.test.yml` mounts the host's current working directory to `/workspace` inside the container.
* **Resolution**: Corrected the `scriptPath` in `start_debugging` to `/workspace/examples/python/fibonacci.py`.
* **`step_out` Timeout**: The previous `step_out` timeout was likely a symptom of the incorrect script path or an unstable session due to it. After correcting the path and re-running the test, `step_out` functioned correctly.
## 5. Conclusion
The `mcp-debugger-docker` server is robust, stable, and fully functional within its containerized environment. The recent changes and optimizations have not introduced any regressions, and all debugging capabilities are working as expected. The server is confirmed to be production-ready.
