File types .mp3, .aif, .aiff, .au, and .wav files are supported. It always outputs time sliced audio data. If you want to record the data, use a Record CHOP or Movie File Out TOP.\t\t\nSee Audio Movie CHOP for reading from movie files. See OSC In CHOP for receiving audio streams via OSC.\t\t\t\nFor large files the Audio File In streams the file from disk so loading the entire file into memory is not needed.\t\t\t\n\nIt streams files from disk and from http: locations (latter copies to local disk first) - It only keeps a few seconds in memory at a time.\nThe supported audio files are .mp3 .aif .aiff .wav and other audio formats.\nIt also plays audio-only from any movie files that TouchDesigner supports, like .mov, .mpg .mp4. See also the Audio Movie CHOP for playing audio from movie files in sync with their video.\nAudio files can be dragged/dropped onto TouchDesigner, double-clicked (if preferred), and RMB Open With... TouchDesigner.audiofileinCHOP_Class\n\nContents\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n\n\n\n\n\n file - of source.\n\n\n\t\t\n reloadpulse - Instantly reload the file from disk.\n\n\n\t\t\n play - Audio will playback when this is set to 1 and stop when set to 0.\n\n\n\t\t\n playmode - - Specifies the method used to playback the audio, there are 3 options.\n\n locked - This mode locks the playback position to the timeline. Scrubbing or jumping in the timeline will change the song position accordingly. The parameters Play, Reset, Speed, and Index are disabled in this mode since the timeline is directly tied to playback position. specify - This mode allows the user to specify a particular position in the song using the Index parameter below. Use this mode for random access to any location in the audio stream. sequential - This mode continually plays regardless of the timeline position (the Index parameter is disabled). Reset and Speed parameters below are enabled to allow some control. timecodeop - This mode allows the user to set the movie index by reference to a timecode in the form of either a , , or Timecode Class object.\n\t\t\n speed - This is a speed multiplier which only works when Play Mode is Sequential. A value of 1 is the default playback speed. A value of 2 is double speed, 0.5 is half speed and so on. This node can not play audio backwards so negative values will not work well.\n\n\n\t\t\n cue - Jumps to Cue when set to 1. Only available when Play Mode is Sequential.\n\n\n\t\t\n cuepulse - Instantly jumps to the Cue .\n\n\n\t\t\n cuepoint - Set any index in the song as a point to jump to.\n\n\n\t\t\n cuepointunit - Units used when setting the Cue parameter.\n\n\n\t\t\n index - This parameter explicitly sets the song position when Play Mode is set to Specify Index. The units menu on the right lets you specify the index in the following units: Index, Frames, or Seconds.\n\n\n\t\t\n indexunit - Units used for the Index parameter.\n\n\n\n timecodeop - Set the audio file index with a reference to a timecode. Should be a reference to either a with channels 'hour', 'second', 'minute', 'frame', a with a timecode string in its first cell, or a Timecode Class object.\n\n\n\t\t\n repeat - - Repeats the audio stream when the end is reached.\n\n off - on -\n\t\t\n trim - Enables the Trim parameters below.\n\n\n\t\t\n trimstart - Sets an In point from the beginning of the audio, allowing you to trim the starting position of the audio stream. The units menu on the right let you specify this position by index, frames, or seconds.\n\n\n\t\t\n trimstartunit - Units used for the Trim Start parameter.\n\n\n\t\t\n trimend - Sets an Out point from the end of the audio, allowing you to trim the ending position of the audio stream. The units menu on the right let you specify this position by index, frames, or seconds.\n\n\n\t\t\n trimendunit - Units used for the Trim End parameter.\n\n\n\t\t\n prereadlength - The amount of audio to buffer to maintain smooth playback. This will slightly impact memory usage, but does not create any delay in the audio.\n\n\n\t\t\n prereadlengthunit - Units used for the Pre-Read Length parameter.\n\n\n\t\t\n opentimeout - The time (in milliseconds) TouchDesigner will wait for the audio file to open. If the Open Timeout time is reached, the Audio File In will stop waiting, and play silence. If the file still isn't opened the next time the cooks, it'll wait again, and do the same. It'll keep doing this until the file is opened, or the open fails.\n\n\n\t\t\n mono - Output mono channel only even if file has multiple channels.\n\n\n\t\t\n volume - Set the level the file is read in at. A setting of 1 is full signal while 0 is muted.\n\n\n\n\n\n timeslice - Turning this on forces the channels to be \"Time Sliced\". A is the time between the last cook frame and the current cook frame.\n\n\n\n scope - To determine which channels get affected, some CHOPs use a string on the Common page.\n\n\n\n srselect - - Handle cases where multiple input CHOPs' sample rates are different. When Resampling occurs, the curves are interpolated according to the Interpolation Method Option, or \"Linear\" if the Interpolate Options are not available.\n\n first - Use rate of first input to resample others. max - Resample to the highest sample rate. min - Resample to the lowest sample rate. err - Doesn't accept conflicting sample rates.\n\n exportmethod - - This will determine how to connect the channel to the parameter. Refer to the Export article for more information.\n\n datindex - Uses the docked table and references the channel via the index of the channel in the . datname - Uses the docked table and references the channel via the name of the channel in the . autoname - The channel is the full destination of where to export to, such has geo1/transform1:tx.\n\n autoexportroot - This path points to the root node where all of the paths that exporting by Channel Name is : are relative to.\n\n\n\n exporttable - The used to hold the export information when using the Table Methods (See above).\n\n\n\n\n\nExtra Information for the Audio File In can be accessed via an Info CHOP.\n\n\n - - - - - - - - - -\n - Start of the interval in samples. - Number of samples in the . - The samplerate of the channels in frames per second. - Number of channels in the . - 1 if is enabled, 0 otherwise. - A count of how often the export connections have been updated.\n - Number of times the operator has cooked since the process started. - Duration of the last cook in milliseconds. - Frame number when this operator was last cooked relative to the component timeline. - Frame number when this operator was last cooked relative to the absolute time. - Time in milliseconds at which the operator started cooking in the frame it was cooked. - Time in milliseconds at which the operator finished cooking in the frame it was cooked. - 1 if operator was cooked this frame. - Number of warnings in this operator if any. - Number of errors in this operator if any.\nTouchDesigner Build: Latest\\nwikieditor2023.112802022.241402021.100002018.28070before 2018.28070\nCHOPs\n• • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • \n\nAn Operator Family which operate on Channels (a sequence of numbers (Samples)) which are used for animation, audio, mathematics, simulation, logic, UI construction, and data streamed from/to devices and protocols.\n\n\n\nThe location of an operator within the TouchDesigner environment, for example, /geo1/circle1, a node called circle1 in a component called geo1. "description": "The Audio File In reads audio from files on disk or at http:// addresses. The path / is called Root. This path is displayed at the top of every Pane, showing which Component's network you are currently in. To refer instead to a filesystem folder, directory, disk file or http: address, see Folder.\n\n\n\nThe panel at the bottom of TouchDesigner, it controls the current global looping Time your TouchDesigner project, or of just one component.\n\n\n\nThe sub-Family of Component types that are used to define and render 3D scenes. A Geometry Component is an Object that contains the 3D shapes to render. A Camera COMP and Light COMP are other Object types. Separately, \"Objects\" also refers to Python objects.\n\n\n\nAn Operator Family that manipulates text strings: multi-line text or tables. Multi-line text is often a python Script or GLSL Shader, but can be any multi-line text. Tables are rows and columns of cells, each containing a text string.\n\n\n\nEach SOP has a list of Points. Each point has an XYZ 3D position value plus other optional attributes. Each polygon Primitive is defined by a vertex list, which is list of point numbers.\n\n\n\nTo \"pulse\" a parameter is to send it a signal from (1) an exported CHOP channel or (2) a python command or (3) a mouse click that causes a new action to occur immediately. A pulse via python is via the .pulse() function on a pulse-type parameter, such as Reset parameter in a Speed CHOP. A pulse from a CHOP is typically a 0 to 1 to 0 signal in an exported channel.\n\n\n\nA Time Slice is the time from the last cook frame to the current cook frame. In CHOPs it is the set of short channels that contain the CHOP channels' samples between the last and the current cook frame.\n\n\n\nA parameter in most CHOPs that restricts which channels of that CHOP will be affected. Normally all channels of a CHOP are affected by the operator. TOPs have Channel Mask, a similar feature.\n\n\n\nsamples-per-second of a CHOP. Each CHOP in your network has a sample rate. In contrast, the overall timeline has a Frame Rate, which is the number of frames to cook and display per second, generally your monitor display frequency, default 60.\n\n\n\nExporting is the connection of CHOP channels to parameters of operators. The output of each exporting CHOP is one or more channels, active only while the CHOP Viewer is on. The current value of a channel can be exported to a parameter of any operator, overriding that parameter's value. See Parameter.\n\n\n\nEvery operator in TouchDesigner has a set of control Parameters that can be integer or floating point numbers, menus, binary toggles, text strings or operator paths, which determine the output of the operator.\n\n\n\nTouchDesigner is a hierarchy of components. \"root\" is the top-most network in the hierarchy. The Network Path or Path for root is simply /. A typical path is /project1/moviein1.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRetrieved from \"https://docs.derivative.ca/index.php?title=Audio_File_In_CHOP&oldid=32320\"",
